Scope and content: The purpose of this work is to offer readers an analysis of how the humanities and social sciences, as a whole, have provided responses to the various questions raised by the Covid-19 pandemic. Taking in contributions from over 70 researchers from different areas of study, it aims to propose a research HSS overview about the pandemic and its management in various coutries based on the scientific capital the HSS disciplines have developed on health and environmental crises over the last quarter century.
